DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
Works under supervision of Consultant Pharmacist; dispense drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners; may advise physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications. Performs all clerical functions necessary for the department to operate efficiently (maintain records of pharmacy operations, dispensing stations, assist in stock control and Administrative functions of the department).
Qualifications/Requirements
Licensed Pharmacy Technician
Hospital pharmacy experience preferred, but not required. Would give special consideration to individuals who currently possess a Pharmacy Technician licensure.
Ability to learn and operate pharmacy department computer systems, procedures
Involved in pharmaceutical stocking, control and dispensing are required. Knowledge of basic math is essential. Maintains confidential matters on a daily basis. Organization skills are required.
