Vernita Evans-Huckaby is the Director of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Respiratory Department at Freestone Medical Center in Fairfield, Tx. She works closely with each of the Cardiopulmonary patients to design the perfect program for their individual needs. She has been employed at Freestone Medical Center for two years full time and nine years as needed.
She is married to Darren Huckaby for 17 years, have two grown children Vernard Evans and Shaquera Means and one grandson Russell Evans(Bubba Lee).
She received her education from Coolidge High School in 1988 and McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas, 2004
She has her Certified Pharmacy Technician(CPT), Medication Aide Provider(MA), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS), Pediatric Advances Life Support(PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider(NRP), STABLE Provider, Basic Life Support certificates(BLS).
She has fifteen years of experience with critically ill and trauma patients. Many of her years of experience was in the ICU and Emergency Room.
She is well trained in caring for patients who have trouble breathing including asthma, emphysema, and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). She is also trained in oxygen therapy, breathing treatments, mechanical ventilation and performing test related to the cardiopulmonary system.
She supervises patients with Holter monitor as well as educates each patient before placing the Holter monitor on them, and explains in detail of what their responsibility is while wearing the Holter monitor and when they should return to have the information down loaded to their Cardiologist.
She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
